LOGISTIC TIPS AND INFO
- We would recommend that you pack your backpack as close to “ready to go” as you can, so we can get started as soon as we hit the trailhead.
- Regarding your backpack for the backcountry portion of the trip, weight will be a major factor. We will be hiking ~15 miles with it, so every pound counts! Below 25 pounds is the goal. Be judicious with what you decide to bring. We will be communicating leading up to the trip as well so we aren’t redundant.
- We will be hiking ~15 miles with our packs on….so it would be wise to get in shape for it!
- It would be a good idea to set up your tent a couple times and make sure you know how to use all your gear. In the backcountry, and potentially in a rainstorm, would be a bad time to realize something doesn’t work!
- Bring warmer clothes than you might expect. Weather can be unpredictable in the fall. We will check the forecast just before the trip.
- We may want to hang our food just to be safe from bears. Bear encounters are unlikely, but a possibility. Educate yourself and consider bear spray or an air horn.
