APPALACHIAN TRAIL // 19-21 OCTOBER 2018

Exploring the book of Proverbs, this adventure takes you and your team through a two-week study on wisdom, culminating in a  three-day backcountry adventure on the iconic Appalachian Trail.

Stretching more than 2,190 miles across 14 different states, the Appalachian Trail may be the best long-distance hiking route in the entire world, extending between Springer Mountain in Georgia and Mount Katahdin in Maine.

PRE-TRIP PREP
Your team will spend a few minutes each day, going thru the 14-day Field Guide [coming soon]. The pre-trip prep sessions will help you sharpen each other through study, reflection, prayer, discussion, and action. You will use WhatsApp to facilitate our daily discussion.

During this time you should make sure you have all the gear you will need for the trip. Use our Gear List: A/T as a reference guide, being sure to note what is required, as opposed to recommended.

  • Friday OCT 19
    • 0900 Rendezvous at 380 Quarry Run Rd, Morgantown WV
    • 1230 Begin A/T hike at Reno Monument Rd junction
    • 1500 Set up camp in or near Crampton Gap Shelter (approx. 6 mi.)
  • Saturday OCT 20
    • 0700 Breakfast and solitude
    • 0900 Break camp and begin hike
    • 1200 Lunch and discussion at vista near Ed Garvey Shelter (approx. 4 mi.)
    • 1300 Begin hike to Harpers Ferry Hostel and Campground (approx. 5 mi.)
    • 1700 Showers and dinner
    • 2000 Mastermind session
  • Sunday OCT 21
    • 0700 Breakfast and solitude
    • 0800 Hike to Harpers Ferry (approx. 4 mi.)
    • 1100 Brunch and debrief
    • 1300 Return to Morgantown

FOLLOW-THROUGH
You and your team will meet once a month for the six months following the adventure to talk, pray, and encourage one another to follow through on your Takeaway.

  • OCT 4: Begin Field Guide
  • OCT 19: Rendezvous and departure (9 AM)

SPECIAL NOTES

Meals will vary from trip to trip based on preferences, but typically are a mixture of self-prepared and restaurants

Adventure will be confirmed two weeks prior to the trip and Field Kits sent at that time to the team leader. If adventure is cancelled due to insufficient applicants or other events, a full refund will be returned.
